Hello, Lawrence. We're baaaccckkk!

We officially took possession of our house on April 16. We worked hard unpacking for a couple of days, then Paul had to leave on a business trip on the 18th. Hmmm. My mom came up to spend a few days so I could keep going with the unpacking.

Unfortunately, I haven't taken a lot of pictures of the house per se, but I do have some fun ones from the move in.
First trip to Hyvee. So thrilled.

Unpacking.
Seriously unpacking.

Spaghetti at Bambino's with Grandma Cathy.
Note that the noodles are on top of his grilled cheese.
Classy.
Touring the Campanile with Grandma Cathy after dinner. :-)

Big shout out to Grandma Cathy, Grandma B, and Grandpa B for subsidizing the childcare for our first couple of weeks here. It really helped me get boxes emptied, and Paul and I settle in a little easier.

Don't worry. I will get pictures up of the house sometime. :-) But we've had so much excitement ...

The Last Days in the MO

The last weekend before our move to KC was Easter weekend. On the Friday prior, Max's playgroup had an egg hunt. It was pretty fun, as most of the older kiddos knew what was going on.

Hunting away!
Score!
Max and Annie with cupcakes.
An attempt at a group picture with all of the big kids and their younger siblings - aka mini-mahem. :-)

On the last Friday in town, we took time out to take Max to his favorite restaurant, Fritz's, and to his favorite park for one last swing.

Leaving was bittersweet. Paul is closer to work, we have a great home, we are closer to family, and we have a great long-term vision for life. However, we leave behind great friends and memories that we will keep with us forever.

Catching up!

After returning from Wichita in mid-March, we had mucho adventures back in the MO, both getting ready and getting out for some fun.

We attended the annual St Pat's Day Warm-Up Parade in Brookside. It was Max's first time chasing down candy. He loved the candy part, not so much the chasing it down part. He usually doesn't have to work so hard for candy!
Waiting for the fun to begin.
Here comes the parade!
Post-parade Irish cuteness!
We had a lot of dates and distractions while the house going through contract negotiations. As a result, Max got a little bit more craziness in than usual.

Picnic at the Nelson (Dinner during a showing)

Yes, this picture makes me teary-eyed with thoughts
of Max's future.
Disney on Ice (During the inspections)
Pre-indoctrination, I mean, pre-show donut.
Yeah. I had to get ears.

Treats (During showings)
Cookie at the Roasterie during a morning showing

Ice cream at Johnny's during a dinner showing during the NCAA tourney (the gall of some people)

Loose Park (Killing time again!)

Just cause...
He's supercute here.

KU Toenails. He asked for them during the tournament!

Putting himself in box to make sure he was coming to the new house.

One last trip around the pond.

And a goodbye to Max's tree in the front of our old Ward Pkwy house.

Laters, KC. We love you.

So, it's been a while...

Well, Max Borchardt's Awesome Adventures did not end. In fact, they got to be so exciting that I have not had time to update the blog.

In short, on one of our fabulous house showing dates, we found out that we had a potential buyer. In a little less than a week, our house had sold and we had to find some new digs in Lawrence within four weeks.
Needless to say, the end of March and beginning of April were pretty stressful and exciting. We were very fortunate to find a house we loved, only minutes from Paul's office, in a great older Lawrence neighborhood. .

During that last month in KC, we did have some excitement, both travelling and in the city.

The first weekend, we trekked to Wichita and Hutchinson for some family time. We hadn't been down since Christmas, so the break was much needed.

In Hutch, Fuzzy and GiGi took us to the Cosmosphere and to the Hutchinson Zoo.

Rocketmen
Wondering how that guy got potty trained.

Mission Control
Probably what I would really look like if launched into space,
except there'd be vomit flying out of my mouth.

Explaining the details of spaceflight  to the grandparents.

Zoo train!

We also got to visit Cousin Dexter, Jamie, Benny, Grandpa Joe and Grandma Cathy!
Cousins playing cars.

Sweet and innocent.
Real cousins. :-)

Crazy grandsons attack Grandpa Joe!
So this was the nice break we had before all heck broke loose and our house sold. I was going to try to fit in all the pics from that point until now on this one post. Silly me. More posts to come!
